Lovely wipes, just need a little easy TLC August 23, 2010 Veggie Gardening Gal (Lancaster, OH United States) Received these along with the Prince Lionheart wipes warmer at my baby shower and thought they were both totally unecessary...but kept them since it was a well-meant gift. Now I think of these as indispensible! Gets the baby cleaner than disposable wipes, with no chemicals and no waste. As stated in other reviews, the bamboo material is somewhat delicate and can fray at the edges- IF you don't care for them. But care is simple! I keep a lingerie bag next to the changing table and place used wipes in it. When I get 5 or so wipes soiled, I toss the whole bag in the washer with other baby clothes or cloth diapers. You don't need to dry them (they're WET wipes!) This has worked great, my baby is now 4 months old and we're still using the original wipes. We do also use other, thinner cotton wipes (available on Amazon also), generally for pee-only diaper changes. But these thicker bamboo ones are fabulous for cleaning up poopy messes! My favorite part is that I mix a few drops of tea tree oil, lavender oil, olive oil and organic baby soap in 2 cups of water and pour this mix over the wipes before putting them in the warmer. The end result is a soft, warm wipe that smells great, softens baby's skin AND we've never had diaper rash! LOVE this product!
Not one survived! August 23, 2010 XenaNVA I read the reviews after getting these wipes as a gift. I truly thought that people were being harsh or just didn't know how to wash this item. I went ahead and pre-washed them with my other wipes and they did exactly what the other reviews said (without every seeing the dryer). On every one of the wipes, two of the four sides started to unravel badly, and since I had already wash them and returning them didn't seem like an option I ended up cutting the bad ends and using my surger to finish the ends just to make them useful for a time (although I think they might still see the trash sooner than later). So unless you have the desire to add a sewing project to your list of chores, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I should have listened but that will teach me :(
Gentle product August 5, 2010 charlie Soft on the skin of my 4 month old son. Have been using them since he was born (have not used a single disposable wipe). Bought the warmer as well. No chemicals, just plain bamboo cloth and warm water to clean his tender buttocks. Works great. Easy to wash. I use a net because the seams wear off easy if tumbled without proper care in the washer and dryer. Besides this flaw, it is a very natural and healthy way to clean the sensitive skin of little ones.
Great wipes...just need to understand your own washing machine June 28, 2010 K. Lister (CA) I love these wipes. They are SO soft. I have a front loader washer with no central agitator. I ran it on regular on low spin and line dried them. They came out fine and still soft as ever. To the point that one reviewer made, why dry them anyway? Put them back in the warmer... For those who review them poorly because of the wash results, read the previous reviews and take them into account. Great product.
Too Many Whiny Reviews April 29, 2010 teachuh (Chicago, Il USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've never done this before, but I had to review these JUST because I found so many reviews by negative knuckleheads when I came back here to order more. My wife and I had twins 8 months ago, and we've used these over and over and over. Sure, they're starting to look a little tattered now, but that's because my wife (like most of these grumpy folks, apparently) insists on washing them in HOT water and drying them on HIGH -- AGAINST THE ADVICE OF THE MANUFACTURER. We've got twins. We've probably washed them 100 times. Actually, my wife thinks they're only getting worn because of all the velcro flying around in our babies' washing. Anyway, they've been great for us; they're REALLY soft and are perfect for baby baths, especially. And they're only a buck and a quarter a piece!
